The 5 Best Mindsets for Growth
Mind Your Mindset
Before delving into the Career Architecture Courses here at Mavens 101, start by aligning your mindset for growth Your mindset dictates how you perceive happenings, assumptions, and beliefs that influence you to adopt or accept certain behaviors, choices, or tools In short, how you perceive the world affects what manifests in your life It sounds simplistic, but if you want good, think with the power of positivity.
The logic here is that, as humans, what and how we think influence how we show up, speak, and behave You want power; you make power moves And in turn, the energy you put out is what you get back How others perceive, interact with, and relate to us starts with us You want respect; you give respect That includes your response to negativity - if someone is rude to you, a respectful or non-response tells that person you are unwilling to participate or match their energy Your practice of respectful engagement will attract like-minded individuals while repelling those who are not in alignment with your values or, at the very least, allowing you to remain unfazed in the face of negativity.
Here is a brief overview of the five essential mindsets to start your path to more purposeful growth:
Growth Mindset
A growth mindset is the fundamental mindset. With the understanding that as you live and breathe, you can grow and thrive. A growth mindset empowers you to take control of your life's changes. With a growth mentality, you understand that through all your learnings, you can continually improve yourself; thus, you take control of life's inevitable changes and evolve with power and purpose. Change is good, but growth is best. Growth is about progress, development, and expansion, pushing boundaries and navigating obstacles to achieve greater success. Go for growth.
Positive Mindset
With a positive mindset, you focus not on the bright side but on the 'it's going to be alright side". You take that mentality and find a way out instead of focusing on the way down.
Abundance Mindset
A person with an abundance mindset assumes that there is always more to come. When you know there is more, you look for more, creating opportunities and uncovering more resources.
Operating with an abundant mindset makes you more open to what others bring. Rather than grappling over yours vs. mine, you understand there is enough for both. On the other hand, when you operate from a scarcity mentality, you are more apt to compete unnecessarily. With a scarcity mindset, you ultimately waste the resources you already have by competing for what belongs to someone else.
Adopting an abundance mindset means spending more time focusing on what you have, rather than worrying about what others have.
Curious Mindset
A curious mindset is the key to innovation, variety, and connection. Curiosity seeks new information and experiences, pushing life questions into action.
Exploration is made possible by a curious mindset. When exploring, our minds are active, actively rewriting and rewiring. A curious outlook is critical to the five essential mindsets because it reinforces other mind frames. Through curiosity, you learn more and affirm your growth mentality. As you explore, you uncover additional opportunities, and as you connect, you gain a deeper understanding of different opinions—in doing so, you support your abundance mindset.
Stay curious and exercise your mental muscles to maintain a strong mind.
Gracious Mindset
Finally, with a grateful mindset, you look at and learn to appreciate all things in life, leading to
Stronger connections: You don't take relationships for granted.
Positivity: Reinforces the positive mindset.
Promotes Mindfulness—Gratitude tends to keep one in the moment, allowing one to appreciate what one has when it is present.
With the right mindset, you can cultivate growth, positivity, and abundance while remaining curious and grateful. All of these things culminate in you living your best life.
